Preparing Your Child for Kindergarten

The following list is intended to help prepare your child in a variety of
Develop mental areas to make the transition into kindergarten as smooth as possible.
Believe it or not, just 15-20 minutes of playing and learning with your child can make a
World  of difference!
Social/Emotional Development
Encourage your child to persist in tasks when encountering a problem by giving
him tasks slightly above his current ability level.  When your child cannot find a
solution on his own, encourage him to calmly ask for help.
Play board games to practice taking turns.
Set up several play dates with friends of various ages.
Allow your child to stay with other trusted adults for a few hours at a time prior to
kindergarten (especially if she has rarely been in the care of someone other than
mom and dad).
Tell your child you expect her to clean up after play.  You could implement a
box for toys left out
Language Development
Verbally give your child specific one-step and two-step directions and encourage
him to follow through.
Read to your child for a combined total of at least 20 minutes each day.
While reading, point out how to hold a book (right-side up with the spine on the
left) and the orientation in which we read the words and look at the pictures (left
to right).
After reading, ask your child what happened in the beginning, middle, and end of
the story.
Give your child plenty of opportunities to draw (without coloring books).  Ask her
to draw the things she sees around her.
Teach your child the uppercase and lowercase letters and, most importantly, the
sounds each letter makes through play and games.
Cognitive Development
Have your child help you sort items according to color, size, and shape (laundry,
blocks, silverware, toys, and other household items work well).
Teach your child to make various patterns (red, blue, red, blue).  Garage sale dot
stickers or craft pom-poms are great for this purpose.
Practice counting aloud to 20 while driving in the car.
Count objects in your home.  Have your child point to each object as she counts.
Go on a shape hunt.  Point out circles, triangles, squares, and rectangles to your
child while you are taking or walk or grocery shopping.
Talk about positional and directional concepts like up/down, over/under, in/out,
behind/in front of, top/bottom, beside/between, off/on, stop/go.
Talk about opposite words (big/little, empty/full, slow/fast).
Physical Development (Gross & Fine Motor)
Give your child plenty of opportunities for outdoor play: running, jumping, and
climbing.
Play catch on a regular basis.
Practice skipping.
Stack blocks together.
Let your child use child-safe scissors to cut out a variety of shapes.
I think if you practice all this thing with your child he will success at the school

ICT is useful and helpful. Its an application of modern technology to interact and share information among people all fields and develop science through technology. As one of the ICT functions is to help people developing education, it is good for educators and the manager to develop their knowledge and transfer it to people. Moreover, through ICT, the work on the job field can be done more effectively. As a teacher or an instructor, he can develop material and the way of teaching to the students by elaborating the element of the subject in order that the material is easy received by the students. So far, ICT gives easiness to run the teaching learning process.
ICT gives advantages in organizations. In the interaction among the members in the organization internally and externally, ICT contributes most in developing communication and sharing information between organizations and between the members in the organization. Fast and accurate messages can be received in a few seconds. SIM or System Information Management, for example, gives opportunity to the organization to download the important information among the similar organizations and related organizations. In educational context, it helps the educators to develop the materials and academic subject, information of education and cooperation among the educational organizations. In short, ICT is helpful to the personal and organizational development through modern technology   I am aright .

A touchscreen is an electronic visual display that the user can control through touching the screen with a special stylus/pen and-or one or more fingers. Some touchscreens use an ordinary or specially coated gloves to work while others use a special stylus/pen only. The user can use the touchscreen to react to what is displayed and to control how it is displayed (for example by zooming the text size).
The touchscreen enables the user to interact directly with what is displayed, rather than using a mouse touchpad, or any other intermediate device
Touchscreens are common in devices such as game consoles personal computers tablet computers and smartphones. They can also be attached to computers or, as terminals, to networks. They also play a prominent role in the design of digital appliances such as , satellite navigation devices, mobile phones, and video games and some books (Electronic books)

Advantages and Disadvantages of on line Learning

There are many advantages to online and computer-based learning when compared to traditional face-to-face courses and lectures. There are a few disadvantages as well.

Advantages of online or computer-based learning

  • Class work can be scheduled around work and family
  • Reduces travel time and travel costs for off-campus students
  • Students may have the option to select learning materials that meets their level of knowledge and interest
  • Students can study anywhere they have access to a computer and Internet connection
  • Self-paced learning modules allow students to work at their own pace
  • Flexibility to join discussions in the bulletin board threaded discussion areas at any hour, or visit with classmates and instructors remotely in chat rooms
  • Instructors and students both report eLearning fosters more interaction among students and instructors than in large lecture courses
  • eLearning can accommodate different learning styles and facilitate learning through a variety of activities
  • Develops knowledge of the Internet and computers skills that will help learners throughout their lives and careers
  • Successfully completing online or computer-based courses builds self-knowledge and self-confidence and encourages students to take responsibility for their learning
  • Learners can test out of or skim over materials already mastered and concentrate efforts in mastering areas containing new information and/or skills

Do you have a portfolio?
First, we have to understand what a portfolio is. It is a collection of documents and/or samples of work (i.e. writing) that you assemble together to show your future employer that you have the appropriate experience, skills, competencies and talent needed to do the job.
How hard can it be to make it?
The answer depends on the person, but starting it can be tricky. Like all things, the hardest part is finding out how to start. As an upcoming student, assembling your portfolio is the most important indicator distinguishing your transition from student to professional.
Most of us have already gone through this for starters, here are a few tips that might help in having the way to start.
1. Define your strength. The more focused, the better.
With many students taking the same courses and applying for the same jobs, it is important to differentiate yourself from the others: Are you a great writer? A graphic designer? Or a stellar event planner?
but have one skill that you know deeply.
2. Be proactive, find your own projects..
3. Maintain your portfolio
A portfolio is a living document. It evolves over time, in the same manner and pace that a young professional progresses. It is a personal reflection of who you are and you can use it in your job search, during the interview, and even when you get employed at your performance review.

The Advantages of Digital Publishing

Digital publishing, also known as electronic publishing, has taken the world by storm. With more and more people having access to the internet, this has now become a more than viable way for aspiring authors to get their work into circulation

Digital publishing is not limited to ebooks, but hard copy books can also be published      using digital technology. The time and cost saver is that an electronic file (very often a PDF file) is sent to the printer, and a hard copy book is printed from this file

 Reduction in costs

Traditional publishing is expensive. Just for starters, paper and printing costs can already run to a sizeable amount. One of the advantages of digital publishing ebooks is that these costs are cut out completely.
If you have a computer you can digitally publish unlimited copies of your work in a format like the popular PDF. The only costs that may come into play could be a once-off fee for appropriate software, as well as minor web server charges, depending on your choice of distribution.
Publishing your book as hard copy means you do not need to order thousands of books, but rather the book is printed when a customre orders it. Big cost saving.
Easy distribution and delivery
With printed publications, actually getting your work printed is just the beginning. From here you have distribution and delivery costs. Another major advantage of digital publishing is that all these costs yet again are reduced or just fall away, in the case of ebooks

Technology for Development
Information and communications technology (ICT) can be a great tool for development. Advances in the use of technology can improve economic opportunities for the poor, increase delivery of services to the underserved, improve governance, and benefit social change and all these change will not happen until we start with small kids with teaching them what is ICT means and how can they integrate with out side world through  the internet.

'Future generations will thanks us for the fight we are undertaking to promote ICT and ensure we have a world class workforce who can compete in a digital world.'
'There is much work still to do! Maximize ICT Ltd provides Lifelong, Life wide e-Portfolios for all learners but there is much training and support which still needs to be delivered. E-Portfolios as the ICT tool par excellence are the essential communication tool between schools, families, mentors, further education and industry.'

How to be friendly with ICT SKILL

Most of us are so familiar with using ICT these days that we do tend to take it for granted. This does give rise to a couple of problems for students, though. Firstly, not everyone has the same level of knowledge and experience and it can be very shy to feel that you are miles behind everyone else. Secondly, when you find yourself using technology to produce your assessed assignments, whether this is for the research or the final production, you may encounter one or two gaps in your knowledge
If you want to be familiar with your own laptop or computer
Have a look at the following, just to ensure that you know what all of them mean.

Maybe you know all of them ; if not, check your own computer to find what is where, talk to        people who know more than you do, and consult ICT staff if you are really worried.
Do not go thinking it is an age thing
Sometimes, if you are a mature student, you have particular worries about ICT. remember that computers are your friends, not your foes.

Technology Implementation in school
New technologies have changed teaching and learning in a number of ways—from graphing calculators to online lesson plans to virtual field trips and simulated dissections, educational technologies can help students access content in new and often exciting ways. In fact, one would be hard pressed to find a single school that doesn’t have access to some kind of educational technology
While many teachers still feel uncomfortable using technology in their teaching practice, it is also likely that teachers feel new technologies are unproven in the classroom
Technology support. Before beginning any technology innovation, schools need to have strong technology supports in place. Teachers need to know that they have help when technology fails, that they have resources when they are unsure how to use a tool, and that they can get recommendations about technology usage in the classroom. Technology tools are often purchased and abandoned in classrooms, not because they aren’t helpful for students, but because teachers do not have the time to troubleshoot software or set up peripherals. If a tool does not work the first time, teachers often become discouraged and decide that the new tool is not worth the trouble—particularly when their old way of doing things worked just fine
